Wall Painting
Our wall painting service covers exterior house walls, boundary walls and garden walls. A good masonry paint refreshes the look of the wall and helps protect it from the weather.
Outdoor walls take a lot of punishment. Rain, frost and shade encourage algae and moss, and the paint on older walls gradually flakes, fades and chalks. Left alone, damp can work its way into the masonry itself.
The right preparation makes all the difference. We clean the wall, treat any growth and deal with loose paint before a single coat goes on, so the new finish has a firm surface to bond to.
What our wall painting includes
- Cleaning of the wall, and treatment of algae, moss and lichen
- Removal of loose, flaking or failed paint
- Filling of small cracks and holes, and repairs to loose pointing where needed
- Protection for plants, paths, windows and neighbouring surfaces
- Masonry paint applied in even coats, by brush, roller or spray to suit the wall
Which walls can we paint?
- Rendered and plastered house walls
- Block, brick and stone walls suited to masonry paint
- Garden walls, piers and gate pillars
- Boundary walls at the front or rear of the property
Masonry paint is designed for outdoor use. It is made to cope with moisture and movement, and it comes in a wide choice of colours. We will talk through the options so the finish suits your home and garden.
Some walls need more than paint. If the render is damaged or the mortar has crumbled, we will tell you honestly and suggest the right repair first.
Keeping painted walls looking good
Painted outdoor walls need a little attention now and then. Cleaning off algae before it spreads, and touching up any damage promptly, keeps the finish looking fresh for longer.
We can advise on how to look after your newly painted walls once the job is finished.
You might also want exterior house painting for the rest of the property.
